This Privacy Policy explains how Astrokun (“Astrokun”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) collects, uses, shares, and protects your information when you use Astrokun (the “Service”).

1. Information We Collect

• Account information: your name, email address, and password (stored securely, never in plain text).
• Profile information: your preferred language, and — if you choose to share it — your date of birth, birth time, and birth place, used to personalise your readings.
• Conversation content: the messages you exchange with astrologers on the Service.
• Payment information: if you subscribe to a paid feature, our payment partner, Razorpay, processes your payment details (including setting up a UPI Autopay mandate where applicable); Astrokun does not store your full card or banking details.
• Usage and device information: general usage data (such as pages visited or actions taken) and device/browser information, which may be collected via cookies or similar technologies.
• Support correspondence: information you provide when contacting our support team.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

• provide and personalise readings, guidance, and remedies;
• operate and secure your account;
• process payments for optional paid features;
• respond to support requests and communicate service updates;
• maintain and improve the Service; and
• prevent fraud or abuse.

3. Legal Basis for Processing

We process your information based on your consent (for example, when you choose to share your birth details or subscribe to a paid feature) and where necessary to provide the Service you have requested, consistent with applicable data protection law, including India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.

4. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell your personal information. We share information only with trusted service providers who help us operate the Service (such as hosting, database, and payment processing partners), each bound to protect your information, or where required by law. We do not share your information with third parties for their own advertising purposes.

5. Data Retention

We retain your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service, comply with legal obligations (such as payment records), resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. When no longer needed, information is deleted or anonymised.

6. Your Rights

You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information by contacting us at support@astrokun.in. We will verify your request and aim to complete it within 30 days. At this time, these requests are handled directly by our support team rather than through an automated self-service tool.

7. Data Security

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures, including encryption in transit and access controls, to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. Cookies & Analytics

This site may use cookies and similar technologies, including analytics tools, to understand how the Service is used and to improve it. You can control cookies through your browser settings; disabling them may affect some features.

9. Children’s Privacy

Astrokun is not directed at, and is not intended for use by, individuals under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we become aware that we have inadvertently collected such information, we will take steps to delete it.

10. International Data Location

Your information may be processed and stored using infrastructure and service providers located outside India. Where this occurs, we take steps to ensure your information continues to receive an appropriate level of protection.

The Service may reference or link to third-party services, such as our payment partner, which have their own privacy practices. We encourage you to review their policies separately.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes via the app, our website, or email, and update the “Last updated” date above.
